Casio G-Shock in Black with Red DW-5000R-1AER
Black Casio G-Shock
This Casio G-Shock DW-5000R-1AER is a re-creation of the very first G-SHOCK model, presented in a black finish with red, blue, and yellow accents. The dial faithfully reproduces the original's distinctive brick pattern for an authentic heritage look.
The watch is built around a 42.3 mm stainless steel case which contains an internal stainless steel module for protection. This core is shielded by a durable rubber bezel and a screwdown caseback, which together form the brand's renowned shock-resistant structure. The band, which features a dimpled texture, is produced from a bio-based resin.
Engineered for durability, the watch has a water-resistance rating of 20-bar, making it suitable for use at depths of up to 200 metres. For visibility in low light, the digital display is equipped with a high-brightness LED backlight. Other practical functions include a stopwatch, a countdown timer, and alarms.
Celebrating over 40 years of groundbreaking design and technological advancements, this new release pays homage to their iconic original. Launched on April 12, 1983, the first G-SHOCK revolutionised the watch industry with its unparalleled shock resistance, surpassing ISO standards and thriving in extreme conditions — from intense athletic use to the vibrations of power tools like jackhammers and chainsaws.
Beyond its advanced durability, the original G-SHOCK gained acclaim for its bold, distinctive design. This legacy was solidified in 2023 when the Japan Patent Office granted Casio a 3D trademark for the shape of the iconic watch — a first for wristwatches in Japan.
This timepiece is manufactured at the Yamagata Casio facility in Japan, a centre for the brand's premium production.
